Checking in with Ashley: Favorites and Inspiration
WHAT I’M DOING EVERY DAY
I picked up painting as a hobby, it’s a great way to tune out for 30 minutes – I’ve also been doing yoga and reading books.
WHERE I GET INSPIRATION
I’ve been reading a ton of old of magazines, old coffee table books, old issues of Elle Decor, and also looking to other designers on Instagram.
MY PERSONAL INTERIOR DESIGN STYLE
I was first published in Domino Magazine back in 2009 and they called me the ‘Rebel Traditionalist’. I’m not one style, I really am traditional, I am modern, a little bit beachy, a little bit French. I’m personally loving the French style right now, which is more of a traditional architecture with cleaner, neutral décor.
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CARPET
I love Antelope Ax, I love Leopard Rose – an old pattern by my grandmother – and anything that feels textural, that’s kind of my thing right now.
MY FAVORITE COFFEE TABLE BOOKS
I’m currently loving the Assouline Travel set. I think they’re super fun and their covers are super colorful and give a pop of color to any room.
WHAT’S TRENDING IN 2020 AND 2021
People will really look at cozy, comfy design because we’re spending so much time at home, I don’t think people will be into fussy things, I think we’ll be focusing on really livable design, and rethink how we make workspaces in home so we have a place to work and focus in.
