This month, the American Red Cross welcomes guests to the prestigious 39th Annual Palm Beach Red Cross Show House.
The historic La Florentia in the Lake Worth area, also known as the “Birthday Cake Castle”, will have its 7,000+ square feet transformed by twenty interior and exterior designers.
Prominent interior designer Lisa Erdmann is proud to lend her talents again this year, designing the formal Living Room to echo the quiet romance of the 1925 Mediterranean-style home.
“I love to sail and the location of this home reminded me of the serenity that comes from being on the water,” explains Lisa. “The goal was to design an elegant, sophisticated room fitting for the house that evokes the elegance of a Palm Beach estate.”
Lisa filled the room with English antiques reminiscent of treasures discovered at a classic London antique market, lush textiles provided by Cowtan & Tout, and Italian paintings that remind her of her trips to Venice and Florence. The grand Living Room is anchored by an original Adam fireplace and Stark antique rug, and highlighted with stained glass spade-shaped trefoil windows.
Accents, accessories, and original artwork complete the well-traveled feeling of the space. Every detail of this sophisticated, grand Living Room invites its guests to enjoy a glass of wine and escape if just for a moment. The Red Cross Show House continues to be a unique fundraiser and a showcase for outstanding interior design in South Florida. This year the house will open the evening of March 4th for the Preview Party and remain open until April 4th.
