Job description

Stark specializes in luxury design carpet, fabric and wallcovering for our elite client base on an international scale.  Our styles range from traditional to contemporary, including a documented library of antique and oriental designs.

We are currently seeking an HR Generalist to join our Manhattan Showroom.  The ideal fit for this position will have 4-6 years of experience in the field with demonstrated capabilities in recruiting, employee relations, risk management, onboarding and training. The Generalist will report directly to the VP of Human Resources and will provide support to our New York headquarters as well as our out-of-town showrooms.

  • Assist with implementation of performance management process to include career development as well as disciplinary processes. Educate management on proper documentation processes.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding for all company showrooms via LinkedIn Recruiter and job postings. 
  • Move standard HR processes in house ensuring we have optimized and compliant processes. Support payroll submissions with timely updates and review for accuracy.
  • Ensure prompt investigations and responses to employee issues.   Communicate trends and issues to Head of HR and management as appropriate and make recommendations for addressing issues in proactive and positive manner
  • Ensure best practices in human resources by keeping current on labor law, human resources development programs, and make recommendations to Head of HR and to management on how to implement within our company

Stark Carpet Corporation is seeking a full-time Account Manager to generate sales for our fabric division in New York City. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to develop new relationships and expand our client base within the interior design trade and architectural community. Qualified candidates will have design industry experience (preferably with fabric) and demonstrated sales capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in the showroom and in the field
  • Generate new business with design trade clients by traveling within the five boroughs
  • Follow up on pending orders
  • Travel as needed to showcase new collections. 
  • Select and send samples to clients based on project needs.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues as they arise.

This role will require travel throughout New York's metropolitan areas to showcase new collections.

Decorative Fabric Designer

Job description

Stark is seeking to hire a Decorative Fabric Designer.

This is the ideal next position for a Designer who has worked in the Decorative Textiles industry for at least four years and is ready to take the next step up in their career.

The Decorative Fabric Designer will be based at our World Headquarters in Manhattan, New York. Under the guidance and in collaboration with the Design Director of Fabric, you will play a pivotal role in creating the theme of the Grey Watkins Collection and shaping the company brand. The salary offered for the position will be highly competitive and commensurate with your experience. 

Once in the position you will…

  • Create original works of art (designs); hand painted and using CAD.
  • Meet with suppliers (Mills) to review qualities and designs and facilitate purchasing.
  • Be a thought leader on all theme and design related matters for the Grey Watkins Collection.
  • Provide direction and oversight of the production and maintenance of sample books.
  • Present the collection to the national sales team and senior management. Educate both groups on topics ranging from cost, product details, and budgets to minimum orders quantities.
  • Facilitate the rotation of product throughout showroom nationally.

Required qualifications…

  • A min of 4 years of experience as a Designer in the Decorative Textiles Industry.
  • Experience creating on original fabric designs.
  • Technical proficiency in creating woven and printed textiles.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign at the intermediate level or above.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel at the intermediate level or above.
  • Must be detailed oriented, possess superior artistic abilities and communication skills.
  • Must have a finger on the pulse of the trends in the Decorative Fabrics arena.

Accounts Receivable Manager
(Greater Atlanta, GA)

 Job Description 

The A/R Manager will manage the daily operations and strategic objectives of the Company’s accounts receivable cycle through design, implementation, maintenance and management of all accounts receivable business functions and procedures for the Accounts Receivable collection process.

Incumbent will be eligible for a competitive salary DOE, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, PTO, & 401K.

 Responsibilities

  • Assure timely collection of monies due.
  • Monitor and report on deviations from credit standards.
  • Assure timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Manage cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly.
  • Conduct credit checks on all customers to establish and manage limits.
  • Manage the maintenance of the customer file.
  • Make recommendations to improve quality of invoicing and collection procedures.
  • Weekly reporting of invoicing totals/aging totals/cash receipts/invoice adjustments.

Floater – Candidate for Sale Training Program – Entry Level College Graduate
(NYC, Stamford and Syosset)

 Job Description

Our Floater positon is a rare opportunity for a college graduate with an interest in interior design and sales to launch their career with a market icon. 

When you first join the company as a Floater you’ll be assigned to an administrative support function where you’ll move between receptionist and operator roles.  After that you’ll be assigned a spot in our Account Management Training Program.  From the time you’re hired until the time you enter the Account Management Training Program will be between one to four months.

Your training on average will take between 12 to 36 months to complete depending on how you progress through the program.  Since everyone learns at their own pace, we designed our training program that way.

The ideal person to fill the Floater role will be very intelligent, possess exceptional analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to build relationship with anyone, be self-motivated and very career driven.
