Q: How do you describe your style?
A: "Our signature aesthetic can be described as ‘new traditional’ and features a refined use of materials, sophisticated color, strong forms, artisanal details, and collectible design."
Q: How do you approach selecting a rug or carpet for your projects?
A: "Carpets are among the first items we select for a room and are integral for establishing the design direction of the space. Some key considerations when selecting a carpet are the durability, the color, the content makeup, and the pattern."
Q: What makes you drawn to custom styles for your projects?
A: "Creating custom designs allows us to have more control over the scale and color of the carpets. It also creates a special experience for the client, knowing they are getting something truly unique. STARK has such a wide range of product types and styles, and we usually take inspiration from designs found in the showroom and translate these into color and patterns appropriate for our projects."
Q: Are there any STARK styles you keep going back to?
A: "We love the vast broadloom offerings from STARK, as well as the custom hand-knotted silk rugs that have a wonderful painterly quality to them."
Q: Do you have any tips for determining the rug size for a space?
A: "We love an area rug that fills the room. It makes the room feel warmer.Generally, we like to see some where between 6-10 inches of wood flooring around the perimeter of the carpet if it is not wall-to-wall."
